During most of the 1990's, I milled around the capital region with my guitar playing original songs in coffee houses and bars. I have performed with or opened for other local artists such as Martly (when they were Style Martly) and Bryan Thomas (at a Borders songwriting forum). I have also performed at strange venues in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, Canada.
I did this, songwriting and performing, in my spare time. I spend a lot of my time teaching literature and media studies to captive adolescents. I spend some evenings at graduate school, and I spend most of whatever time remains as a dad to two amazing children, but the compulsion to write and perform is always there, and I still have some spare time. |
